I had the opportunity to end my year with a great service of visiting the Mercy center on December 9, 2019. "Mercy center is a shelter for street kids, five orphanages, a hospice, a 400-pupil kindergarten, a community meeting place, and a serene haven in the slums with small gardens and playgrounds." Prior to the visit, SerWIS - a student led club was hosting a donation drive for the kids. We went as a school club with donations of school supplies, home appliances and clothes. We spent our school hours with the kids by helping them color, playing games and doing group activities. They all were very happy and welcoming. This trip made me realize the importance of quality education and I truly enjoyed the experience of mingling with the kids and spending some time with them.
